Mary X. Mitchell
Historian & legal scholar of nuclear weapons & energy.
My work focuses on the intersections of nuclear science and technology with law and social movements. I am an assistant professor of history at Purdue University, currently finishing a two-year term as an Atkinson Fellow in Sustainability at Cornell University.
I earned my Ph.D. in history and sociology of science from the University of Pennsylvania. Before beginning my doctorate, I worked in university research and intellectual property management, earned my J.D., practiced law in Pennsylvania, and served as a law clerk to Judge Anthony J. Scirica of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
